Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!

This year, Mother's Day has new meaning to me. I am so grateful for the sweet little girl that God has given me to nurture and love. And I am even more grateful than ever for my loving Mom. Thank you, Mom, for teaching me how to be the best mom!

Today, as I snuggle my sweet little miracle baby, I remind myself never to take her, or our journey to have her, for granted. My thoughts, prayers and love go out to all the beautiful women who so badly want to be moms, but are struggling with infertility or miscarriage. You are not alone.

Audrey - 4 months

Audrey,

You're now 4 months old (and 5 days) and Mommy can't believe how fast you're growing. This month you rolled over!! Mommy has not been able to capture it on camera yet, but you easily roll from your tummy to your back. Going from your back to your tummy is a little bit more difficult for you, but you have accomplished it a few times. Most of the time you make it to your side and then flop back to your back.

You continue to be Mommy's happy little girl. You only fuss or cry when you're really hungry and Mommy's not moving fast enough for you, or when you're over-tired. The other day when we were playing, you actually giggled for the first time. Baby laughter is the most joyful sound, and your laugh just makes Mommy's heart smile.

In the morning, you love to do tummy time and bat at the toys on your playmat with Mommy. If it's nice out, Mommy will put you in the Ergo carrier and we go for a walk together. You don't make a sound on our walks, but your head goes back and forth, from side to side, the whole time we're walking. You look around in amazement, discovering the world and it makes Mommy so happy. It is like I have finally found my purpose in life. I love teaching you and introducing you to the world, and I love experiencing the world again through your eyes.
You had your very first play date this month with Miss Addison. She is the daughter of one of Daddy's oldest friends. She's about 6 months older than you so you're not quite up to her speed yet, but I'm sure that pretty soon you two will have lots of fun together!

We are starting to settle into a routine at Grammy and Grampy's house now. Daddy is working hard at his new job and I wish he had more time to spend with us. As an adult, I know that this is what it's like for him in season, but I wish he could experience you the way I am able to. Being a stay-at-home mom is not an easy job by any means, but I am grateful for every second.

Your first Easter was a very special one because you were Baptized! You were my happy, well-behaved little sweetheart in church and it was such a proud day for Mommy. You got to spend lots of time with Auntie Manda and Uncle Ryan because they were here to be your Godparents. You love them, and they are SO in love with you! We found out that your little cousin is going to be a little BOY and I know the two of you will have so much fun together!

Now to the official stats! We had your 4 month well baby appointment yesterday with your new doctor. Mommy loves her already and you seemed to like her too because you were smiling and hamming it up for her (until she gave you your shots)! You weigh 15 pounds 5 ounces and are 25 inches long. That puts you in the 83rd percentile for weight and the 76th percentile for height. The doctor said you're perfectly healthy and that we can start to introduce cereal any time we're ready now. Mommy doesn't think you're quite ready for that yet, so we're going to wait a little while longer, but maybe before next month's update we'll have tired it out.

You're outgrowing all your clothes! Your 3 month clothes are almost all too small. 3-6 month clothes fit you for now, but we're even putting you in 6-9 month clothes to give you a little more wiggle room. You have so many cute summer clothes, but Mommy is afraid you won't fit in them by the time it's warm enough for you to wear them!

Your personality is developing at the speed of light and Mommy falls more in love with you every single day. I love the way you cuddle with me and the way you love your Momma so much. I could have never imagined the connection I would feel to you and the love I have for you. With Mother's Day coming up in just a few days, Mommy is so proud to be your Mom sweet girl!

I love you to the moon and back!
Mommy
