music to my ears

I had a routine doctor's appointment yesterday afternoon. These appointments seem pretty much pointless to me. Pee in a cup, weight, blood pressure, ask how you feel, listen to baby's heartbeat and you're done. Wait 20 minutes to be done in 5. Though I have to admit, I'd go every day and wait hours just to hear the baby's heartbeat.

You see, I've felt great so far. No sickness, no headaches, pretty much completely normal. If I didn't know I was pregnant, I wouldn't have any idea. You're thinking, "B@#$&, stop complaining!" right? The problem? I worry. With my history, how can I not? I can't feel the baby move yet, so even though I know intellectually that the baby is probably fine, the preggo hormones take over and I worry that something has happened to the baby and I just don't know it.

But hearing that heartbeat...I'm telling you...there's no sound in the world as beautiful as that! Hopefully I can make it to next Friday without worrying and then we get to see our little bambino again! :) And then we'll know if it's a boy or a girl!

Any of you have guesses on the sex???

I think you are having a girl. Just a hunch and of course I was wrong with both of mine are probably having a boy!

So glad you got to hear the heartbeat. Is your next appointment your big ultrasound?

I know the appointments seem pretty routine and pointless, but it was on of those routine appointments that a doctor discovered that my baby didn't have enough fluid and was in danger if they didn't deliver her immediately. I am so thankful that they saw it and were able to get the baby out in time. :)
For my pregnancies after that, I never saw them as routine appointments again.
Congratulations! So glad you are having a pretty smooth ride so far and looking forward to hearing if it will be a boy or girl. :)

I felt the same my first pregnancy! I never felt pregnant the first few months, so the heartbeat was a HUGE relief for me and source of happiness!
